I am searching for the ancestors and siblings of Madison BURDETT, b. abt 1847. He is listed as the father of Nancy Jane BURDETT, b. July 14, 1869, d. Oct. 5, 1917, my great grandmother. The Kanawha Co., WV birth record issued for Nancy Jane says Father: Madison Burdett, Mother: S. Burdette. There is another sibling for Nancy, Henry F. BURDETT, b. September 14, 1881 to Madison and L. M. BURDETTE. These birth dates are ones provided by Kanawha County, WV on official birth records. To complicate all of this, I found both Nancy and Henry F. in the 1880 census, enumerated with a Bailey HALL in Kanawha Co. Nancy is listed as being 2 years of age, no relationship, and Henry F. is 7 years of age and relationship as Boarder. Now if I believe in the official certificates issued by Kanawha Co, Henry F. BURDETT is not even born yet (for the 1880 census) and Nancy is 11 or 12 at the census time. I hope you are not as confused as I am. Who do I believe? What are the odds of two Nancy's and two Henry F.'s being born at different times, and being siblings? Sandy Spradling
I believe my ancestors date back to COUTTS BURDETT a well known Banker from England. Apparently the daughter of a wealthy German banker named Coutts married my Great Grandfather's uncle. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who might be able to trace their ancestory back to the 19th Century to Northern England and North Wales.Dave Burdett.
WILLIAM BURDETT, b. 1769, Maryland, married ROSA FITZGERALD and settled in Montgomery Co., Maryland. Later moved to Belmont Co. Ohio.

Had children; Esther Ann, Sarah Ellen, William Johnstone, Sophia Jane, Mary, Miller S., John M., Robert M., Harriet Elizabeth, Abraham L., and Blanche Launa. Anybody working on Maryland Burdettes? My g-grandmother EMILIY JANE BURDETTE (b.27 Jul 1825, d.2 Jun 1906, both Poplar Springs, Howard Co. Md.) married WILLIAM HAMMOND STACKHOUSE at Poplar Springs on 24 Jun 1851. She may have been the daughter of WILTON BURDETTE, but that is only an educated guess at this point. Would love to hear from anyone connected to this Anne Arundel/Howard/Frederick Co., Md. line? Phil Stackhouse
I'm looking for the parents of SAMUEL L. B. BURDETTE who married c. 1816 in Jones Co., GA, to SALLY COURSEY. By 1850, he was in Chambers Co., AL, where his children lived and died. His grandaughter SALLY BURDETTE married JOHN BROWN, from whom my line descends. Samuel may have been born in SC, possibly Edgefield District, but this is just a guess. I would love to hear from anyone who has any additional information. I have more precise dates but am writing away from my notes, so please forgive me for being approximate. Seems like SAMUEL BURDETTE was born c. 1790 or a little earlier; the middle initials are uncertain, as I've seen them written several different ways. What does seem certain is that he had three given names but went by Samuel, using two middle initials. I look forward to hearing from anyone who's interested! Sincerely, Danny Knight.
